Northern Lights Camp Experience at Sommarøy

This tour starts from Sommarøy Arctic Hotel. Please meet up 10 minutes before departure time at the reception.

Once you meet your guide at the reception desk, you’ll receive a short and helpful introduction on how to capture beautiful photos for when the Northern Lights appear. With our camera settings ready, we’ll take a scenic walk to our nearby viewpoint. At this cozy spot, you can relax in comfortable indoor facilities where warm drinks, snacks, and restrooms are available. It's the perfect place to stay comfortable while we wait for the northern lighst to light up the Arctic sky.

Our knowledgeable guides, who have spent many years living and working in the Arctic, will share captivating stories about Northern culture and everyday life in this unique region. Feel free to ask questions and truly immerse yourself in the local atmosphere.

The viewpoint is completely free from light pollution and offers panoramic views over Sommarøy and the island of Senja, famous for their dramatic and untouched landscapes. 

When the Northern Lights appear, this pristine setting becomes the ideal place to capture once-in-a-lifetime photos, and create unforgettable memories. After a couple of hours, we will walk back together to the Sommarøy Arctic Hotel.
